Just a few steps away from the Matanzas Pass Wilderness Preserve is a modern play area nestled in a quiet, natural setting. Swings, slides and climbing towers keep little hands and feet busy. Towers with benches and picnic tables beneath massive, old, oak trees provide welcome shade and quiet for adults. The Bay Oaks Recreational Center has two large, fenced areas with baseball diamonds and soccer fields. Inside the Center are basketball courts, a weight room and game room. Behind the building, surrounded by trees, you'll find top-rated tennis courts. This wonderful athletic area can be enjoyed by the entire family. STATUS: Open Monday to Friday, 10am until 9pm, and Saturday 10am until 6pm. For more information about special events and classes for residents and visitors, call (239) 765-4222. Parking is free.
